You don't need to worry about the comment section. Worry about the medium support team. I commented on an article called JK Rowling is a anti-trans bigot to say when did the words he and she become hate speech, and I got a email back from medium support saying that my comment was hate speech and that if I did it again I might get kicked off medium.
