Turn off the news? YES. Why? Because it's 90% lies and government propaganda. The more corporate news we're exposed to, the more ignorant we become. I believe this has been confirmed in some studies. I say, inform yourself but be very skeptical about your sources. It's best to experience the world, not learn about it from media.
