This show sounds very slice-of-life to me. When I lived in SF's Mission District a few years ago, there were a lot of 2 bedroom flats with 6 or more people living in them. They took turns sleeping in the beds, there were 'rooms' under staircases where people slept behind curtains. Everything had to be locked, each separate drawer of dresser had its own key. Now even those places are gone, gentrified out. Dystopia for sure.
