The problem with condos is the same as the problem in All American infrastructure. Nobody wants to pay to keep them up so they fall apart. And then it's a catastrophe. When you own your own home it's your decision, but if a group of people have to agree, the infrastructure is not going to be repaired. Just keep putting it off until it collapses. Renting is better. Then it's the landlord's decision and will probably also be put off, but at least they have an investment to protect and the money to do it.
