The cause of climate change is not carbon. Fossil fuel burning is just one factor of many. Destruction and degradation of the natural world has denied Nature its eons-long ability to regulate the climate. Industrial growth and human population growth have caused this destruction. More of it won't help.
Your understanding of "what human beings need" misses most of what people need. Does having more cars and bigger houses and electrified everything make people happier or healthier? No. People need connection with each other and with a healthy planet.
Your citing China as an example of non-capitalist pollution is minimally true, but 75% of their pollution comes from producing products for corporations in the capitalist world.
Please read my article on The Real Causes of Climate Change or better yet, Charles Eisenstein's book Climate: A New Story. Reducing climate to carbon emissions is wrong and leads us nowhere.
