Thank you Jessica. I write stuff like this often but don't publish it because it's too depressing. The "tsunami of depression and anxiety" is already here; therapists are overwhelmed with needy clients. IDK if there is a way to save humanity or save any of Nature at all, but there might be. It wouldn't be little tweaks like solar energy. We'd have to have massive restoration of natural space, especially wet lands, and stop all chemical farming and factory animal farming. We'd have to consume A LOT less and have few children. Mostly stop driving and flying. The capitalists would have to have their wealth confiscated and redirected to restoration. And all of that probably still won't be enough. But I hope we try. Suggest Robin Kimmerer's Braiding Sweetgrass for a ray of hope in an indigenous scientific context.
