So right, Indi. Economics is the only "science" whose fundamental axioms are known to be false. Yet people still listen to these monsters. Unlike what capitalist economics says, people are not rational actors motivated primarily by material greed. We're actually motivated more by fear, love, and desire to feel like good people and be accepted into a community. Wealth comes in somewhere around fourth place. But economists like Summers are, of course, motivated by greed, so think we all are.
