Hasn't Venezuela been under a stringent US sanction regime for like five years now? How can they keep medical supplies coming and hospitals open? I'm not surprised things have gotten miserable - that's the intent of the sanctions. I was surprised to read about the hospital wanting US dollars. Maybe that's the only currency they can use to buy supplies?
