Brian, what you say is true that Putin boasted about upgraded nukes, but to me it’s obvious he had to do something like that to slow down ongoing US aggression against Russia. I hope they actually have such weapons so they won’t have to use whatever they’ve got in the nuke war the neoconservatives seem bent on. I agree all imperialism is wrong. But there is absolutely no comparison between what the US does and what Russia does. The US has totally destroyed Iraq and Libya and half of Syria, occupied Afghanistan, overthrown democratic governments and installed fascist ones in Ukraine and Honduras, created massive refugee crises that are destabilizing Europe, and is actively trying to overthrow the governments of Iran, Venezuela and Syria. For an American to criticize any other country’s aggression is beyond chutzpah and approaches sociopathy. And no, I don’t trust the sources you link, but even if I did, it wouldn’t change my position. Russia is not the aggressor here. I do appreciate the civility of your tone, though.
